Riley S.

Riley is a bubbly 12 year old with a great sense of humor and a heart of gold. Riley uses a touchscreen assistive device to communicate, a power wheelchair for mobility and employs her very talented foot for both of these actions. Riley greatly enjoys introducing herself to new friends, visiting the beach or pool, going out to eat and playing baseball.

Riley’s main diagnosis is cerebral palsy, which in Riley’s case affects every aspect of how she moves her body. One of Riley’s other diagnoses is epilepsy. Riley’s first seizure occurred the day she was born, we are happy to report that today we have not seen any seizure activity in person or on tests for more than 6 years.

With the help of her specialized equipment Riley can start conversations, complete her schoolwork, drive over to or walk with a familiar person, see herself in a mirror, tell jokes, get in and out of her vehicle, elevators and most buildings.
